This site is meant to help people who may not know that there are a plethora of FREE networking resources out there on the internet. In fact, enough FREE material that one could potentially gain enough knowledge through self-paced exercises to pass several of the highly coveted Cisco exams. My aim is to help you find lectures, labs and other miscellaneous items (no dumps) to aid you in your various pursuits. I do not claim this to be a site that has a complete and comprehensive list of all Cisco related learning resources. I only claim that I will try to keep it accurate and up-to-date as time permits.
I hope my audience will be comprised of a diverse group of people from all over the world that are self motivated and looking for a viable way to become upwardly mobile. I know that a lot of people are not in the most fortunate of circumstances and maybe even think there is no way out of their current condition. Learning Cisco has provided me with a means of uplifting myself from my humble beginnings into a moderate middle-class lifestyle. Increasing my Cisco knowledge should provide me with even more economic freedom.
I strongly urge those of you who are looking for an answer to the question- how do I make it in this world?… to try Cisco, try networking, try something hard. I have found the community to be very diverse and accepting. I have found the technology to be cutting-edge and market driving. It’s a safe bet. And if you become proficient enough, it can become very lucrative. I’ve heard of highly skilled Cisco professionals that hire themselves out at $1000/hr and only work 3 months a year. This is an industry that needs smart, driven people. It is an industry that encourages knowledge development and higher learning. You really do not have to be a genius if you are willing to work hard. And the harder you work, the more richer the reward.
Realistically, I do not think you can come from absolutely no knowledge to a CCIE (~$120k/yr) level with FREE material. If you have aspirations of gaining certification higher than CCNP, you will need to start purchasing lab time, equipment or/and lecture material. But, by that time you should have a decent job and it’d only be a matter of budgeting. Knowledge is power. Give yourself a power boost. Push yourself to higher limits and gain all the respect that you rightfully deserve.
